Description
Now this is an amazing find. This 36mm new-old-stock 1960s Glycine Airman has been amazingly preserved and has never been on a wrist and comes complete with box, open papers, band, and tag. I’ve never seen another watch like this that was unused. The case has never been opened or serviced. The hacking-seconds feature works perfectly. The case is like a mirror. The dial and hands are pristine. You may be wondering why a nearly 50-year-old watch would essentially be new old stock. It’s a sad story. In the 1960s, a woman bought this watch as a present for her fiance who was a pilot in the Air Force. Before she could give it to him, he was killed in Vietnam. The watch then sat in the proverbial sock drawer for nearly 50 years until it was given to her son and was then acquired by us. We have not serviced this watch. It is working fine and we wished to preserve it as the time capsule which it really is.
