Description
This is an uncommon and early Rolex housed in an octagonal rhodium-plated steel-back case, even retaining the original dust cover. This watch dates to 1929. The coin-edge-bezel case was expertly restored by having an expensive re-plating of rhodium, leaving the back untouched (correct steel). The correct large Oyster-patented winding crown is present. The dial is completely original. The Rolex pencil hands were likely replaced many years ago. These are small-sized watches at 28mm. The correct Oyster-watch-company case is correctly signed. The very fine Rolex Prima movement is adjusted to six positions, cleaned, and is accurate. These early Rolex watches are becoming very uncommon to find.
