Description
Here is an all-original 42mm Omega Speedmaster ref. 145022 78, which means the case back was made in 1978 and the (just cleaned and accurate) manual winding caliber 861 movement dates to 1982. As many Speedmaster collectors know, Omega would use earlier case backs to assemble their Speedmasters in this era. The 145.022 78 was made between 1978-1982, then the 145.022 case appeared with no date codes afterwards. That makes this watch one of the last produced while the date codes were still used. The dial, hands, bezel, lume, crystal, case, crown and movement are all original to this watch. This is a transitional Speedmaster and the last of the 145022-78-series, making it a more interesting and collectible piece. The case has not been polished.
