Description
This is a very rare 1940s Rolex Air-Lion mid-size measuring 31.75mm in steel with a solid-gold bezel and winding crown. The ref. 4444 stainless steel case is original and is larger than the tiny Oysters from the series of 1940s Oyster watches. The dial is completely original with exaggerated Arabic numerals and retains the original blued steel hands. The second hand has been replaced at some time. The manual winding Rolex 17-jewel movement was just meticulously cleaned and is accurate. This watch is extremely uncommon as I’ve only had one other in over 35 years in the business.
