1940s Jardur Chronograph WW2 Pilot’s Watch

Description

This 37.5mm 1940s WW2 era Jardur chronograph is simply a stunner! The 18k rolled-gold plate case has zero wear…only normal micro scratches. The rolled-gold case Jardurs were more expensive when new than the steel versions, that is likely why we see fewer examples than the steel. This amazing case has sharp beveled lugs and original steel screw-back. The original black dial is among the best I’ve ever seen on a Jardur. The deep black glossy gilt print dial against the gold case truly looks amazing. The turning bezel is stellar. The crown is correct. I have found these with the wording on both the movement and case scratched out. The highly desirable Valjoux 72 movement is accurate and very clean after a recent meticulous servicing. Pilgrim watch company made these watches for pilot training, and were utilized as a navigation device. This is a true tool watch.
