Description
Look at this all-original, first-version vintage and early Rolex Oysterdate Precision ref. 6294 from 1954! This is the earliest Rolex Oysterdate we have owned. It is all original, including the ‘greenish-yellow’ aged and mellowed dial having raised, gold-coloured triangular markers, roulette date aperture (alternating red to black numbers), sweep seconds, and Dauphine hands. This watch came from Australia where the intense sun ages dials just marvelously, adding to their character, desirability, and originality. The 34mm stainless steel signed Rolex Oyster case showing the 54 (meaning 1954) manufacture date is shimmering, as well as free of any dings and scratches. This version of the manual winding Rolex movement was very robust and reliable with fewer parts present (opposed to an automatic movement), which reduces repair costs. This particular original movement was recently cleaned, overhauled, and is keeping accurate time.
