Description
This original Rolex Oyster Perpetual Submariner ref. 1680 with red lettering dates to 1971 on the case back and correct 3063xxx serial # between the lugs. The original and correct stainless steel case and case back displays ‘as-found’ fine condition, with usual and minor marks from age. The fat-font bezel is original, with only the dot having been replaced at some time. Any marks in this gently faded original bezel appear much less visible with the naked eye. The Mark V (correct and all original) dial is spectacular, with vanilla toning and matching original handset. There is no flaking on the outer edge of this dial. The original automatic Rolex movement was just cleaned by our Rolex-trained watchmaker, waterproof tested, and is accurate. As you know, finding a dial, hands, bezel and case in unmolested condition is becoming quite rare in the Submariner market.
