Description
This is a 1939 Rolex Oyster Royal housed in a very early octagonal, rhodium-plated case with stainless steel Oyster back. We just had the dial restored and it matches perfectly to the original print. The Oyster-patented, large-sized winding crown is functioning perfectly. This octagonal original case, being of a smaller size, is still larger than the boy’s-size Rolex watches from the same era, measuring 30.5mm across and provides good wrist coverage due to its shape. The Rolex manual winding movement was just cleaned and is accurately maintaining time. We have installed a vintage leather band that would have been correct to the era of this watch.
