Here is a very rare, 18k solid-gold 1979 Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date Submariner with serial 6418xxx and ref. 16800, making it the first year of a sapphire-crystal Rolex! This is a transitional watch (changing from the 1680) and is near impossible to find another! The watch was just fully serviced by our Rolex watchmaker. The case and original Jubilee bracelet was very lightly restored with no heavy polishing, and no dings or scratches. The bracelet has some stretch, but for its age, is excellent! The original blue dial and bezel are quite alluring. The original sapphire crystal has a pin-prick-sized mark, which does not show as much in real life as in my pictures. For a 1979 watch, the bezel is really quite fine with only a tiny mark.
