Description
The rare 1971 Glycine Airman vintage military watch was popular amongst military servicemen and pilots everywhere during the 1950s-1970s due to the bold and easy-to-read 24-hour dial. These dials display both 24-hour time and conventional time simultaneously! This 1971 Glycine Airman very clean, all original, including the black dial with military hands, which have been re-lumed along with the markers. We are including a generic stainless steel bracelet that suits the watch. The automatic winding movement was recently cleaned in 2011 by Werner Siegrist of Falcon Watch Co. and is very accurate. This Glycine also comes with the original box and papers. These watches are very hard to find, quite collectable, and uncommon in this all-original condition! Many are not aware that Glycine Airman watches have a hacking-seconds feature. When the crown is pulled out, a hollow tube shoots up a microscopic wire at 12:00, stopping the second hand when it reaches 12:00! This hacking-seconds feature is working perfectly! Please also note that parts to fix the second stop are no longer available as they sold out in 2008. Due to the desirability of the Glycine Airman, there are fakes out there. Thankfully, we know the difference. Many are getting scammed, so be careful, especially on eBay!
