Description
This is a very fine and extremely rare all-original LeCoultre Reverso from the early 1930s! We would say it is the best example we have ever seen and I think any serious collector or dealer will agree. Someone looking for this watch will know the history, but for those who don’t, LeCoutre introduced the Reverso in 1931 and still produces it in many variations, making it the longest running production watch of all time! Our example is amongst the earliest from the 1930s. The original, never re-touched dial is as perfect as you will ever find with white, art-deco Arabic numerals, matching (original) hands, and sub-seconds. It is absolutely bold, black, and stunning! The stainless steel, signed case reverses tightly and snugly without play and everything is shining like a mirror. The plain steel front shimmers and an old initial was lightly engraved at one time and was professionally polished away by the best watchmaker we know (who also serviced and cleaned the accurate LeCoultre movement). The watch is an eye-stopper, all 23x38x8.9mm of it. It is as rare and desirable of a vintage watch as you will ever find and one of the cleanest examples available.
