Description
This is an extremely rare vintage 1937 Omega in solid 14k gold measuring a large 36.3mm with an original and spectacular sector dial having original blued-steel hands…untouched. This watch was sold to me by a Toronto family. The man’s Jewish grandfather fled Poland to Canada in about 1938 with only this watch; being his prized possession. I have not seen or found another solid gold sector dial Omega anywhere from dealers, or anywhere on the net. A steel sector dial version was sold for $14,500 a couple of years ago by a well-known watch site. The steel version of this watch has been resurrected and sold by Omega recently in their heritage collection. The case retains its deep hallmark and has not been polished. The manual winding 15 jewel original movement has been serviced and is running flawlessly. The original two-tone dial is sublime and beautiful. We installed a vintage Omega buckle to complete the look. Take a look at the new Paris Olympics Omega….it is essentially this watch! This is truly an investment/museum piece. Bank wire on this vintage Omega only please.
