Description
Here is a 1930s 22.5x33mm chrome-plated, vintage (very early) automatic winding watch. These watches were amongst the very first of all automatic winding watches, with this particular example utilizing the movement of your wrist to cause the lower lugs to flex and pump. These lugs are attached to a gear system and hence, wind the watch as you move. This was not a great automatic system and I really say this is a collector’s piece that should not be worn daily. As with any early attempt at automatic winding, these were a good idea, but not a practical invention. Please don’t expect the pumping action to reliably keep this watch wound all day. You can gently pump the lower lug up and down to wind the watch. This original dial is fabulous!
