Description
This 28mm all-original and correct, 1941 rhodium-plated with stainless steel back Oyster Edison is one of the rarer Oyster series of watches. Made by Rolex for the Canadian market only, these watches were sold at PX military stores in WW2 to soldiers going overseas. The smaller case size made them less like to be damaged during battle. The dials are interesting and complicated on these watches. This example has Arabic numerals, outer minute track, and sweep seconds. The blued steel hands are original. I love the original and evenly aged dial. Even with its fading, it looks great! This watch retains the original Oyster-patented winding crown. The caliber 59 (correctly signed Rolex under the dial) was just cleaned and is accurate. These are very collectable WW2 military Rolex watches!
