1942 Minerva Chronograph In 18k Rose Gold

Description

This is a very rare and fine circa 1942 all-original vintage Minerva chronograph in solid 18k rose gold. Minerva watches began their history in 1858 in Villeret, Switzerland, where they continue to produce a variety of handcrafted watches to this day. In 1923, Minerva introduced the 17-jewel caliber 20 chronograph with a column-wheel mechanism and Breguet balance-spring. When this movement appeared, Minerva entered the realm of high-quality chronograph-movement production. Minerva supplied watches to the 1936 olympics. It is quite evident that this caliber 20 Minerva movement is quite fine. Look at the gilded finish – this movement is truly a piece of mechanical art to admire! The champagne dial is completely original and very fine. The dial has evenly aged and the shadowing only appears in my photo. The hands, as well, are original to the watch. The 33.75mm fully signed Minerva 18k rose-gold case is enhanced with stepped lugs.
