Description
This 29mm all-original and correct, 1942 stainless steel Oyster Lipton is becoming harder and harder to find! Made by Rolex for the Canadian market only, these watches were sold at PX military stores in WW2 to soldiers going overseas. The smaller case size made them less likely to be damaged during battle. We purchased this watch from the original owner. The dials are interesting and complicated on these Liptons with this one having Arabic numerals, red 24-hour track, and sub-seconds. The blued steel pencil hands are original. I love the original and evenly aged dial. This watch retains the original Oyster-patented winding crown, which is also in excellent shape. The caliber 59 movement (correctly signed “ROLEX” under the dial) was just cleaned and is accurate.
