1950s Cortebert With Exotic Case And Dial

Description

The photos really depict the uncommon qualities of this fine vintage 1950s vintage Cortebert watch. This original suntanned dial really looks amazing on the wrist. The blued steel hands and deep lume are again all original. I enjoy the prominent Arabic numerals and large sub-seconds register with curved “antimagnetique” print. Stainless steel cases were difficult to work with in the early days, so we see fewer intricately styled watches such as this. This watch measures 33×42.5mm and looks larger due to the all-dial appearance. These spiral lugs are amazing. The caliber 677 Cortebert manual winding movement was cleaned and is accurate. Cortebert’s history was lost in a fire in the 1950s, but their legacy lives on through the fact that they produced movements for Rolex in the early Panerai movements.
