Description
Here is a very clean vintage Omega dating to 1954. This watch is housed in a very attractive gold-filled 34mm case with a stainless-steel-screw-back. During this period, Omega had some of their cases produced in the lovely town of Ludington, Michigan to avoid import duties on cases. These cases were made by the Star Watch company, who produced cases for other watch brands, including Gruen and even the Omega Speedmaster. These cases are completely correct and not signed “Omega”. This sparkling manual-winding Omega caliber 420 movement is keeping accurate time. This gold-filled case features a wide bezel, horn-lugs and retains its original Omega winding crown. Notice the triple-ridged sides on this case. The waffle dial is truly stunning – completely original and unblemished, with raised gold-toned ‘Explorer style’ 12,3,6,9 Arabic numerals, along with arrow markers. The Dauphine hands are original to the watch. This vintage Omega was purchased form a local London, Ontario, Canada family and was likely stored for years, due to its fine condition.
