Description
Look at this all-original and very clean 1954 Rolex Oysterdate Precision manual winding vintage watch with military provenance! The 35mm stainless steel case gleams and is without any major scratches. The manual winding Rolex movement (adjusted to two positions) was recently cleaned by our Rolex-approved watchmaker and is accurate. This case is the early version that is signed Brevet between the lugs. Notice the fine, original, and rare suntanned dial with baton and arrow markers, along with the Dauphine hands, blued steel sweep seconds, and roulette red-and-black date. We have never seen this checkerboard pattern on a Rolex dial as they are usually a honeycomb pattern. Look at the fabulous “D” company inscription on the case rear, which is referring to Vietnam’s “D'” company in the early part of the war (1954). The military provenance certainly adds much value to this watch. This is a brilliant, all-original Rolex Oysterdate in every respect!
