This is one of the finest all-original Vacheron Constantin watches being offered here. This is a Calatrava-style 18k solid-rose-gold 34mm (full-sized) extremely rare Vacheron Constantin Geneve circa 1955 watch housed in its original box. These rare boxes alone have sold for $1500 on eBay. The dial is original with raised enamel print and rare polished rose-gold 12:00, 3:00, 6:00, 9:00 markers and matching stick hands, which are virtually flawless and as clean as you may ever find in original condition. The rose-gold case has not been over-polished and is in ‘like-new’ condition. The case snaps with a tight fit and crisp, loud “snap.” The down-turned Calatrava-style lugs and beveled bezel really are spectacular-looking. The manual winding Vacheron Constantin movement is finished with Geneva stripes. This movement is accurate. This Vacheron even retains its original 18k sold-gold buckle signed “A.W.” (as they were in this era). We have never seen a comparable example in a Vacheron whether it be at Christie’s, Sotheby’s, or Antiquorum. We believe this is the best-looking example we have ever laid eyes upon. It exudes a classic and elegant style that is timeless and rare. Vacheron Constantin is one of the finest and oldest watchmakers (since 1750).
