1960s Rolex Sabot Hoof-Shaped Dealers Clock

Description

This is a seldom-seen 1960s Rolex Sabot ‘hoof’ clock, which was leant to dealers in about 1960 as an advertising tool. This clock was also known as the “hoof” clock due to its shape. This gilt brass case with green paint and applied brass lettering displays original and undamaged overall condition, with the electro-mechanical Rolex movement keeping accurate time after a recent overhaul by our Rolex-trained watchmaker. The Roman and Dauphine-hand dial is pristine and all original. The battery compartment was properly converted to run on two D-batteries. The hinge just needs two pins. The original wood case is still present and in very fine shape. This is a rare prize that seldom surfaces. We don’t know of another example available anywhere in the world.
