1960s Wittnauer Professional Chronograph

Description

This 1960s Wittnauer Professional 7004A chronograph has achieved cult-status among chronograph collectors. The overall look and heftiness of these watches is quite evident when you hold one in your hand. The robust and large 40mm stainless steel case (12mm thick) with screw back and polished pushers screams quality. These watches were often sold at PX military stores in the late 1960s to military personnel. The Landeron 248 manual winding movement absolutely sparkles after a recent overhaul. The chronograph mechanism functions smoothly. This case and bezel are in very fine condition considering the age of this chronograph. When you see this watch in person, a minor nick is barely visible. I’ve never seen such a clean burgundy bezel on one of these. The chamfered lugs retain the bevel and appear to have never been polished. The dial is spectacular and the original handset and markers retain the original lume. The winding crown has the original signed logo and is pristine. This is the finest Wittnauer Professional chronograph I’ve offered.
