Description
This is considered the rarest and most sought-after of all the Hamilton Electrics known as the “Altair.” It was produced in 1961 with an estimated production of only 1600 pieces. This watch is in very fine shape for its age. There is usually a bit of twisting damage to the lugs where the bracelet connects to the case. The lugs are not bent – it is without any damage. This is a well-known fact amongst collectors who seek this watch and is documented in Rene Rondeau’s Hamilton Electric reference book. Speaking of Rene Rondeau, this watch was fully serviced by him recently. The caliber 505 Hamilton Electric movement is quite accurate. The case condition is stellar! The dial was possibly restored and maintains the original hands. Finding the original bracelet on these watches is extremely rare. This circa 1961 Hamilton also retains its original winding crown. The original box is included with this rarity. This is simply the hardest of all the Hamilton Electrics to locate. We don’t know of a better example available anywhere in the world.
