Description
This all-original (first generation) 1961 Vulcain Nautical alarm watch is a true rarity! This watch is quite impressive, being water-resistant up to 300m and having an alarm feature that can be heard underwater. The diving record was set in 1961 at 222m by Hannes Keller and the Science Editor of Life Magazine, Kenneth MacLeish, who were both wearing Vulcain Nautical alarm watches, which performed flawlessly. This watch is in line with the most expensive and rare LeCoultre Polaris and ranks as the second-most-collectable of all alarm watches produced. The massive 42mm stainless steel case has a double-membrane case back for added water resistance. This case displays stellar overall condition and is without any scratches or dings. The original dial is as clean as you will find, having a rotating disk that displays a decompression table based on diving depths in the aperture. All the hands are original.
