This 1962 Fortis Streamline encapsulates all the powerful design quaities of the 1960s. The case is large at 35mm and with the disappearing bezel, has an all-dial appearance, sprawling across the wrist. The font in the word “Streamline” is awesome. The original quadrant dial, elongated and curved Dauphine hands, and demure crown all scream 1960s. I love that there is no second hand. The fine 21-jewel manual winding Fortis movement is accurate after just being cleaned. This watch comes with the original and very amazing-looking white bakelite Fortis box, complete with original purchase receipt (from Germany) dating to 1962. We bought this from the family of the original owner. t’s difficult to find sleek watches such as this.
