Description
In over 30 years dealing in vintage watches, I’ve not seen another black-dial Explorer-style dial on a Tudor ref. 7926 by Rolex. This is the dial that spawned the new version of the Tudor Advisor, being the most similar to its present appearance. This rare black dial and Dauphine hands are all original. Some of the gold plating has worn off some of the markers. The red-tipped alarm hand was touched up with the correct paint colour at some time. There is a darker section of paint just above the centre post, being either old lacquer or a touch-up done many years ago. More importantly, this dial looks fantastic on the wrist and is damn rare! There are two Rolex service records and the original guarantee certificate dating to 1962 adding to the desirability of this Tudor-Advisor package. The original and valuable Tudor box also comes with this watch, further enhancing the desire to own this Tudor. The original dual crowns are also both correct (Tudor) to this watch. Usually we find replacement generic crowns. The original Rolex Oyster bracelet is also included when usually, we only find these on leather. The manual winding Tudor alarm movement is working flawlessly. The 34mm stainless steel case looks excellent without any major flaws.
