Description
Here is one of the most uncommon and desirable of all the Air-Kings, a 1963 Rolex Oyster Perpetual Air-King oversized Super Precision ref. 5504. The 5504 seems to have been produced in small numbers based on how infrequently we find them. This is the largest and one of the rarest of all the Air-King series of watches. The case is the same measurement as the early Explorer watches from the same era and measures 36mm across not including the crown. The Rolex Oyster case exhibits very fine overall condition and retains the original Rolex Oyster winding crown. The near-pristine dial looks fantastic and retains the original raised markers, Dauphine hands, and sweep seconds. The automatic winding caliber 1530 Rolex movement was recently cleaned, overhauled and is keeping accurate time. This is a large and fine-looking watch on the wrist.
