This rare and vintage, all-original 1965, 40mm ref. 1675 Rolex Oyster Perpetual GMT-Master with original glossy, gilt dial is in as fine condition as you will ever find! We purchased this watch from the original owner. The stainless steel Rolex Oyster case is in very good condition with some marks from age; one ding on the upper-left lug tip that is not even noticeable while wearing. On the wrist, the case looks to be in spectacular overall shape! Some original case edges still remain on the lug edges. The original gold gilt dial is superb with a deep dark-black colour. We would say it’s the best dial of its kind that we’ve ever seen! The markers have never been re-touched, and have mild and desirable patina to them and they still actually glow! The hands are completely original, matching, and glowing, with only a bit of lume missing on the hour hand. Of course, the small, valuable, and correct 24-hour hand is original. The original faded bezel is present and really sets off the vintage look. The Rolex winding crown screws down perfectly. The Rolex caliber 1570 movement is keeping accurate time. All markings and serial numbers between the lugs are clear. The black nato-style nylon strap looks great on this Rolex GMT and truly accents the deep and mysterious dial. The gold-gilt-dial GMTs are highly sought after and to find a dial such as this (being so clean) is truly remarkable!
