This is a Rolex Air-King Date from 1971. This watch has a very uncommon and original pewter-toned dial. There is some aging on the bottom edge of the dial, hardly worth mentioning, as it is barely visible with the naked eye. This Date-variety of Air-King was sold mainly in Canada and Commonwealth countries only. The date is the feature making it uncommon as the regular and common Air-Kings do not have the date. The 35mm stainless steel original ref. 5500 Rolex-Oyster case is without any major dings or flaws. The automatic winding Rolex caliber 1520 movement was just cleaned and is accurate. I believe these watches will increase in value over time.
