This 34mm vintage Rolex Air-King dates to 1967 (sold in 1969) and features a very amazingly original patinaed dial that has taken on an almost purplish tone. As aged as this dial is, you will really appreciate the unique vintage look it has taken on – especially when you see it in person. In natural light, this dial is amazing. The Air-King retains its original Dauphine handset as well. The caliber 1520 automatic winding movement was just cleaned and is keeping accurate time. The bezel and crown are 14k gold. This watch retains the original box and papers, which really adds much value to this complete vintage Rolex package. We purchased the watch on this thick Rolex Oyster (more modern) ref. 78350 bracelet, which looks amazing. It is likely that the folded bracelet stretched apart and this 1980s thick Oyster bracelet made a more solid replacement. I remember in the 1980s, we would always ‘upgrade’ some Rolex watches to the solid Oyster bracelets because the watch looked better overall. These watches often sold on a choice of either a steel or two-tone Oyster folded bracelet when sold in stores. I find the steel bracelet frames the watch and does not distract from the overall look. This vintage watch was bought from a local family…one owner. You are going to love this vintage Rolex Air-King. This is a full and rare complete collector’s package that will beat inflation.
