Description
This chunky and highly collectable vintage circa 1968 Certina dive watch measuring 38x42x13.21mm looks amazing. This dive watch displays original and unpolished condition and retains its signed winding crown. This has to be one of the most ornate case backs I have seen on a dive watch. I enjoy the scalloped detail and turtle insignia. The automatic winding Swiss movement was just cleaned and is accurate – still having its original case seal. The two-tone original dial with white pencil hands, steel baton markers and red sweep seconds looks excellent. Certina was chosen by many professional divers since their first dive watches were introduced in 1959. The DS2 came to be in 1968. Certina also provided watches to the U.S. navy for experimental dive vehicles.
