This vintage 1969 Omega Speedmaster is amongst the rarest variety you will ever find. Only 1014 of these watches were produced by Omega in solid, heavy 18k yellow gold. Of the first 39 watches produced by Omega, these were given to astronauts, except one of these watches, which was given to President Nixon. Of the remaining watches sold to the public, only 975 were allotted. As you can see on the case rear, this watch is numbered 978 out of the total 1014 examples. The case and bracelet are in brilliant overall condition, with only the tiniest mark on the lower-bracelet end piece, which could be filled if one desires. The bracelet is not overly stretched and is in great condition overall. The solid-gold dial, bezel insert, crown, and hands are all pristine. The caliber 861 movement (with dust cover) is shimmering after a recent cleaning and is accurate.
