1970 Doxa Sub 300T Professional

Description

This is an extremely hard-to-find circa 1970 Doxa Sub 300T Professional. This watch has reached iconic status in America due to the character Dirk Pitt, played by Matthew McConaughey, and his orange Doxa in the movie Sahara. This watch has always been a favourite amongst professional divers in the 1970s, including Jacques Cousteau. This is an original and untouched example, with the massive 43x14mm thick case in its original state and without any major dings or scratches. The original sapphire crystal and proper unsigned winding (non-screw-down) crown are still present. The beads-of-rice German-made bracelet with adjustable stretch buckle is also original to the watch and will fit a medium-sized wrist. Of course, the bracelet shows stretching, as this is a heavy watch. On the wrist it looks fabulous! The original dial shows some usual crazing only on an angle. At one time the lume may have been upgraded, as is often done during a service.
