Description
This is an uncommon and NOS (unused) vintage early ’70s Gruen watch known as the Day/Nite measuring 33mm in a pristine gold-plated case with hang-tags and sticker, as it was sold when new. This watch came from a jeweller’s stock which was stored in a safe since the ’70s. The Gruen Day/Nite has a disk under each hour aperture which changes from green to black – denoting night or day at 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. This vintage Gruen watch comes with the factory-original stretch bracelet, which is also pristine. Notice the inwardly curved lugs and the very narrow bezel, which makes the watch look larger than its 33mm. The manual winding Gruen movement is keeping accurate time but should be serviced in the future. I have left the patina on the unused and unscathed case which can be easily wiped away. You won’t find another example such as this anywhere in the world.
