This is an all original and uncommon vintage 1977 (5 million serial) Rolex Air-King Date in steel. The 35mm stainless steel Rolex Oyster ref. 5500 case displays excellent overall condition with the Rolex Oyster winding crown operating smoothly. The original dial is an unusual slate colour with even and attractive aging – all lume plots intact. This Date-variety of Air-King was sold mainly in Canada and Commonwealth countries only. The date feature makes it uncommon as the regular common Air-Kings do not have the date. The automatic winding Rolex caliber 1520 movement was just cleaned and is accurate. This dial is amazing and rare to find in this slate grey.
