Description
This is a very uncommon 36mm 1977 Rolex Datejust 14k solid-gold and steel ref. 1630 that was just meticulously cleaned by my Rolex-trained watchmaker. We bought this from the original owner who kept it in spectacular condition. There is no stretch to the bracelet. This watch uses the Rolex Oysterquartz case, but has the automatic winding caliber 1570 26-jewel movement with quick-set date and sapphire crystal. This movement was just cleaned by our Rolex-trained watchmaker. The amazing bracelet was produced only for this short-lived automatic-version, and has three rows of solid gold instead of the two rows found on the Rolex Oysterquartz, which appeared later. This watch looks essentially new. This watch has the original dial and not a service dial, as we often find on these. This case and bracelet is one of Rolex’s best designs and looks simply amazing on the wrist. These are truly undervalued watches, due to the fact that few are out there.
