Description
This 1977 Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date Submariner ref. 1680 is highly sought after. The original and most desirable matte-black dial with matching deep-vanilla markers and original hands is as lovely as you will ever find! The original bezel has some desired fading, but only the lume dot was replaced, as it was missing. The case has never been heavily polished – only very lightly to remove any major dings or marks that were visible with the naked eye. We just had our Rolex-approved watchmaker dismantle and clean this fine Submariner. The watch really looks great. Most importantly, the original inner and outer box with dated guarantee and manual are intact! The serial number matches its 1977 date on the People’s Jewelers card. A repair card was also present, dating it to 1996.
