Description
This 1984 Rolex Oysterquartz Datejust displays fantastic original condition! It is great to place an Oysterquartz on the wrist without having to wind or set it. The 36.5mm case with 18k gold bezel and two-tone 18k solid-gold and stainless steel bracelet is in very fine shape, fitting up to a 7.5″ wrist. The Rolex sapphire crystal is pristine. This uncommon blue dial is completely original and very clean. This dial is striking and fabulous! This Rolex watch has a quick-set date feature for ease of setting. Rolex was known to manufacture these watches with the highest tolerances. In fact, the Oysterquartz was built to the highest tolerances of all watches Rolex made in this era. The electronic, quartz movement in this Rolex is very finely finished and considered to be the best quartz movement ever produced. Only the Rolex manual winding 1530, which preceded this watch for a very short time, utilized this same case and bracelet. I have never found an overly stretched bracelet on an Oysterquartz, as they are built so finely. Oysterquartz watches have such a sleek, modern look and are larger than most vintage Rolex watches (other than the sports models in the same era) and very accurate. This battery operated watch is ticking away very reliably. Usually these Rolex watches are 14k and steel, but this is a harder-to-find 18k gold-version.
