This is a rather rare and exciting R series (1987) ref. 16018 Rolex Datejust housed in a near-pristine 18k-solid-gold 36mm case with fluted solid-gold bezel. The dial was originally blue and has colour-changed over the years to this mysterious and deep green. Original colour-change dials are highly sought-after due to their rarity and uniqueness. There is some patina due to the change, that further adds interest to this spectacular sunburst dial. This vintage Rolex watch houses the serviced caliber 3035 automatic winding Rolex movement, which offers the quick-set date feature. The Rolex crystal is sapphire. The gold Rolex winding crown screws down smoothly. A gold-filled vintage Rolex buckle completes the look. Just finding an 18k-gold Datejust is hard enough…with this amazing dial; even more special.
