Description
Tudor found itself in a position around 2009 where it re-launched the company. The United States did not have new Tudor watches available until 2013, Britain until 2014. Some of these first models are actually scarce to find. This Tudor Grantour was the first offering for the re-launch of the brand. This model is particularly uncommon; with its very chunky lugs and Porsche-911-inspired bezel font. During this time, Tudor partnered with both Porsche and Ducati to get the ball rolling on their re-launch. This watch exhibits many ‘racing-like’ visual qualities. This first version of this watch had dots above the numerals on the bezel; afterwards, the model was less chunky and no bezel dots. Finding this exact model is quite difficult. Like all Rolex and Tudor watches that were produced for a very short duration, they become quite valuable later on. I believe this watch will be quite sought after in the future. This example looks almost pristine and is complete with box and papers, plus original stainless steel flip-lock bracelet with extra links. The steel case measures 40mm across and 11mm thick. The chunky crown guard and screw-down crown is pretty cool. I love the red accents against the black, plus the racing style dial edge. This watch looks fabulous on the wrist. Grab one while you can!
