This is an EXTREMELY hard to find circa 1970 DOXA SUB 300T PROFESSIONAL. This watch is has reached iconic status in America due to the character Dirk Pitt, played by Matthew McConaughey, and his orange DOXA in the movie Sahara. This watch has always been a favourite amongst professional divers in the 70’s, including Jacques Cousteau. This is an original and un-touched example, with the massive 43x14mm. thick case in its original state and without any major dings or scratches. The original sapphire crystal and proper unsigned winding (non-screw down) crown are still present. This is version two of the watch and the crown is completely original and correct. The beads of rice German made bracelet with adjustable stretch buckle is also original to the watch and will fit a medium sided wrist. Of course, the bracelet shows stretching as this is a heavy watch. On the wrist it looks fabulous! The original dial shows some usual crazing only on an angle. At one time the luminous may have been upgraded, as is often done during a service.
