The GLYCINE AIRMAN vintage military watch was used in Vietnam; popular amongst military servicemen and pilots everywhere. From the 1950’s to the 1970’s pilots have relied on them due to their bold and easy to read 24 hour dial. These dials display both 24 hour time and conventional time at the same time! This 1971 GLYCINE is very clean; all original, including the black dial with military hands which have been re-lumed along with the markers. The stainless steel case is in very good shape and retains the original cross hatched crown and turning bezel, along with the original pressure back case, which only has minor and usual marks. The lower crown locks the rotating bezel. We are including a generic stainless steel bracelet that suits the watch. The automatic winding, signed (A.S. Movement) was recently cleaned in 2011 by Falcon Watch Co., which is the official Glycine repair center (which is now closed). This Glycine also comes with the original box and papers. These watches are very hard to find-quite collectable and uncommon in original condition. Please note; many are not aware, GLYCINE AIRMAN watches have a hacking seconds feature. When the crown is pulled out a hollow tube shoots up a microscopic wire at 12:00 stopping the second hand when it reaches 12:00! This hacking seconds feature is working perfectly! Please also note. PARTS TO FIX SECOND STOP ARE NO LONGER AVAILABLE…they sold out 2007. Due to the desirability of the GLYCINE AIRMAN, there are FAKES out there…we know the difference…many are getting scammed…be careful…especially on eBay!
