Description
This is a very uncommon 1938 Gruen Extreme driver’s watch known as the “edge-of-wrist watch” measuring 20x37mm with its 14k-gold-filled highly curved case. This is the most curved of all the Gruen curvex watches and is meant to be worn on the side of the wrist. The wear on the case edges is not visible with the naked eye – only in my close-up pictures. This case looks great when viewed in-person. The dial and hands are original. The raised gold-tone numerals are Breguet style. The band and buckle are original to the watch. This band is fragile and worn at the end, but we wanted to keep it as an original package. There are exact new (identical) bands available exactly for this watch on eBay. The manual winding Gruen Curvex movement is keeping time rather well. These rarely hit the market.
