This is a large 1970’s Hamilton chrono-matic automatic chronograph known as the FONTAINEBLEAU, designed by Buren and utilizing the same movement configuration as BREITLING and Bulova movements of the era. This Hamilton houses a caliber 11 movement which was the very first automatic winding chronograph movement produced. The steel case with screw back measures a massive 47mm. across and 14mm. thick. The stainless steel case has never been polished. The original white silver dial with black sub-registers looks fabulous having stark contrast. The crown is correct and signed. The automatic winding caliber 11 movement is functioning flawlessly after a $500 overhaul. This HAMILTON offers a quickset date feature. The original crystal and rubber seal are still present. These are highly sought-after watches.
