Our Ladies’ feature vintage wristwatch to buy…click pic above.
This vintage1928 ELGIN Lady and Tiger is one of the most collectable vintage Ladies’ watches ever produced! We recently sold one other of these rare watches, and this is the LAST one we have. This watch was styled in 1925 by Lucien Lelong-truly embodying the roaring 20’s design flare! You can see this watch on the cover of the book “American Wristwatches” by Unger and Faber, where it is marked “rare”. I cannot impart its’importance in the history of watchmaking. I am sure visually, you will be enticed! The hinged case of this watch is solid 14k. white gold with inlaid enamel heads of both a woman and a tiger in flame orang e with black enamel accents. The hand carved filigree case measures 17x26mm., which is not tiny-an easy to-read size and is without any dings, scratches or personal engravings. The Elgin winding crown is present. The Art Deco dial displays a gentle patina. The original blued steel hands are intact. The manual winding ELGIN movement was just cleaned by our watchmaker. These watches have sold up to $11,000. We are making it easy for you to act fast at our special price on this VERY rare ELGIN! Make someone (or yourself) VERY happy. We will include the book “The Lady and Tiger” that inspired the designer of this watch.
