Here is a LARGE OMEGA Air Ministry Pilots’ Navigator watch measuring a hefty 36mm. in stainless steel and a thick and chunky 12.5mm. .. a robust and substantial military OMEGA! This OMEGA is known as the Air MInistry watch (The A.M.) stamped on the rear case and is the 3814th. watch issued in 1956. These watches were initially produced in the 1940’s for WW2, then, were re-cased by the Canadian (and British) military and often the dials were re-done by the military and issued again in the 1950’s…as this one was for the Canadian military. Note the large, white easy to read dial with bold black Arabic numerals. This particular watch was just purchased from the original owner who was a Flight Navigator for the RCAF. (Royal Canadian Air Force). The huge steel case is all original… (unsigned) with all correct Air Military markings. The white dial is original air force issue. The OMEGA caliber 30 T2 SC is known as one of the best movements ever produced by OMEGA; this one, just cleaned and overhauled and keeping accurate time. Note the original 1940’s “spade” blued steel hands. The winding crown is also original…these were made prior to logo crowns appearing.
