This is a MILITARY, signed and uncommon WW2 MILITARY OYSTER RECORDA produced by the ROLEX watch company in and about 1941. This example has military inscriptions on the case back and is marked M.S. Campbell and his service number “V75441” and RCNVR which denotes that this is a Royal Canadian Naval Volunteer Reserve Issue Canadian Military watch. The stainless steel case is quite nice…truly sparkling, with the reference 3478 stainless steel. The original OYSTER PATENT winding crown is still functioning perfectly. The caliber 59 movement (all original and signed ROLEX under the dial) is keeping time very well after a recent clean and overhaul. The original dial is very clean with red 24 hour track, Arabic numerals (with their original lume), red sweep seconds, and original blued steel pencil hands that have been re-lumed. These 29mm. WW2 OYSTER watches are small in size and probably designed to avoid damage during battle. They were designed and sold to CANADIAN soldiers going overseas in WW2.
