This 18k solid-yellow-gold Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date is an amazing find. It comes complete with box, papers, buckle, original purchase receipt, plus timing papers as sold in Hong Kong in 1968. The original gold dial and baton hands look absolutely mesmerizing! The solid-gold 18k case is rare to find, as most of these ref. 1002 34mm case watches were made of steel or lower karat gold. The Rolex Oyster case is without any major dings or scratches and appears never to have been polished. The original gold-capped winding crown has wear on one side – easy to replace, but I would leave it as it is not noticeable when wearing and screws down perfectly. The automatic winding caliber 1570 movement is keeping time very well. Notice the rare ’60s gold-plated pristine Rolex correct era buckle we included; which I feel, completes the watch. A luxurious new crocodile band is installed. This yellow-gold vintage Rolex watch exudes a deep, rich tone and is stunning to see on the wrist. The 34mm case I think is very classic and understated. I have priced this extremely well. I believe this is an investment-grade vintage watch.
