Here is a WW2-era vintage Oyster Centregraph housed in a 28mm gold-filled case with stainless steel Oyster back. The dial is all original having Arabic numerals and 24-hour red military scale. The blued steel pencil hands are the segmented type. I have seen these hands on the Tudor Centregraph version and on the Rolex Bubbleback as well. It’s hard to tell if these have been replaced. This watch came from an older gentleman who had some Oyster watches for many decades. The correct Oyster-patented screw-down crown is still present. The (just serviced and accurate) correct manual winding caliber 59 movement is signed Rolex under the dial on the top plate. Rolex had modified ebauche movements made by Fontmelon, which was named the FF30 and later renamed the Rolex caliber 59. The Oyster series of watches were produced by Rolex and assembled in Canada to circumvent duties and taxes. These watches were marketed to Canadian soldiers going overseas to fight in WW2 and were sold at the PX stores. I love this example.
