Rolex Prince Doctor’s Watch Early 1930s Original White Gold Filled

Description

This is a very early and completely original and unpolished vintage Rolex Prince dating to the early 1930s. This rare Rolex came from an estate here in Canada and was in a safe for many decades. The 20×39.5mm rectangular case is 14k white gold filled and is without any wear, making this early Rolex watch quite a find. That is only patina on the case and not wear. The Rolex Prince movement was considered the finest of its kind in the 1930s; with this example having a very clean and expensively serviced and accurate manual winding Rolex movement. This watch even retains the seldomly seen original Rolex Patent signed winding crown. This two-tone dial is completely original and has taken on an amazingly attractive patina. Most early Rolex Prince watches have had the dials restored, or the wording “Rolex Prince” added to the dial. These early watches were not signed Rolex on the dial and are completely correct and original. This watch also retains the original and complete set of blue-steel Prince hands. The Rolex Prince is often referred to as the ‘Doctor’s watch’ due to the large and easy-to-read sub-seconds register. Furthermore, these watches were often known to be given to doctors from their patients, if they were cured or their life saved. I have priced this uncommon and fantastic looking Rolex watch extremely well.
